AGENT’S REPORT
Seasonal/H1N1 Flu Update – Dennis spoke with the school, VNA and nurses today. Gerry suggested we find out from the VNA, schools and police what lead time would be needed to conduct a flu clinic. Approximately 180 doses were received for the seasonal flu clinic. A senior clinic will be held tomorrow. The fire and police departments will be next in line. It is still unsure when the H1N1 vaccine will be received, but when received, it will be in shipments of 100. Conducting a survey was discussed. Gerry suggested possibly implementing a first-come first-serve clinic with those who are pregnant, children 6 months to 24 years, and those with chronic illnesses being vaccinated the first day, and any others be vaccinated the following day(s) with the remaining
vaccine. With regard to the H1N1 vaccine, there will be no guarantee of the second shot. Dennis suggested holding a weekly clinic and said that the CDC has allowed money for this. He said that it would take a week or less to mobilize a clinic once the vaccine is received. More information to follow next month.
Recycling/Hazardous Waste Center – The Town Administrator said that it will be up and running by the middle of November.
