AGENT’S REPORT

Swine Flu and Regular Flu Update – The state would like to have providers and health departments move up the regular flu clinics to October in order to run swine flu clinics.  They hope to have the vaccine ready by November.  It is still uncertain how many doses the town will receive, who they will target first (schools, children, etc.), and whether or not it will be administered at the schools.  Dennis will be attending an update seminar on September 17th and will provide more information at the next meeting.  He also said the governor signed the Emergency Dispensing Order stating who can administer the vaccine.

Regionalization – The Town Administrator and Dennis attended a meeting, along with eleven other towns and will attend another tomorrow.  He said the towns are breaking down into smaller groups and are looking at ways to share resources.  He will have more information at the next meeting.  Dennis also said that the Town Administrator invited West Boylston to relocate their offices here and that the Board of Health is looking into it.

Recycling/Hazardous Waste Center – The Center could be open by the fall.  Recycling would be weekly.  The ongoing maintenance fee for the town could be approximately $600-$800 yearly.  Additional fees have not been established at this time.

PLAN REVIEW

Birdland Drive (Jennifer Smith) – Birdland Drive may not be an approved public road.  The plan needs to go before the Building Department and Zoning Board for their review/decision.    If it is determined to be a buildable lot, the plan before the Board meets all the setbacks and is therefore approved contingent on whether the lot is deemed buildable.  It will be held pending the Building Inspector and Zoning Board decision.

614 Main Street (Donna O’Driscoll) – Variances that are needed can be approved as a local upgrade and do not require DEP approval.  The system will be a Presby.  The plan was approved.

1240 Main Street (Keith Gabler) – Approved.

Lorie motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 p.m.; Matt seconded; all agreed.
