June 22nd was confirmed as the date of the next BOH meeting.
AGENT’S REPORT
Swine Flu – Dennis has been taking part in the conference calls and feels they are very helpful. Information has been distributed to the schools and he remains in contact with them periodically. Region II is actively participating. To date, there are no cases in Boylston. The funds planned for the table top exercise in June were used to purchase surgical masks. The national stockpile holds and distributes the masks and sanitizers. Boylston received 90 N95 masks for first responders. Having children vaccinated was also discussed. Tamiflu would be limited should an outbreak occur. Presently, the state has 500K courses of Tamiflu. If the need arises, the Board will hold Special Meetings. Dennis has met with Ken Gikas and the Police Chief. He
has not met with the Fire Chief. The need to work with school nurses was also discussed, as well as CPR training. Dennis said the DPH is a good resource for us since they inform the local boards first.
Office Coverage/Agent’s Cell Phone – There was discussion as to whether or not physical coverage was needed in the absence of the Health Agent and Administrative Assistant simultaneously. It was decided that since the Health Agent stated the cell phone use is only for the Board, Police, Fire, Town Administrator, Region II contacts and 24/7 emergencies, that a sign will be posted with the BOH number and Police Department number in case of emergencies. The Town Clerk will be asked to take any deliveries.
Educational programs and/or articles were discussed. Lorie will check to see if the Lyme disease program is on cable. Material on mosquitoes should be distributed to the schools before the school year ends. Dennis to follow-up.
The possibility of installing hand sanitizer dispensers in the town hall was discussed. Dennis said ten were ordered, but not yet received.
PLAN REVIEW
129 Main Street (Slack) – Approved with a Deed Restriction to two bedrooms.
Lorie motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m.; Matt seconded; all agreed.
