Regarding the Variance Request for 131 Nicholas Avenue – A letter will be written to Thomas & Janice Sioui informing them that the Board does not give variances for new construction.
Regarding the Request for Statement of Approval (Pulte Homes, Pleasant Hills Subdivision Phases 1 & 2) – A letter will be written suggesting they send all supporting documents to the Planning Board. The Board of Health deals with individual lot septic systems, not subdivisions, and therefore cannot give any statement based on the subdivision as a whole.
AGENT’S REPORT
Emergency Preparedness – (Walter DePaolo) Region II Update - Mr. DePaolo attended and gave the Board “Go Kit B” which consists of gloves, masks, hand sanitizers, volunteer badges, biohazard labels, spare batteries, etc. “Go Kit A” which the Board currently has, contains clip boards, vests, megaphone, caution tape, signage, etc. He suggested we do a readiness exercise in the future (possibly start with a table top first). Concerning volunteers, Mr. DePaolo said the Worcester Medical Reserve Corp. has prepared a letter, which will be sent using the Board’s letterhead. It introduces the WRMRC and requests volunteers in the case of an emergency. A volunteer recruitment sign-up sheet is attached. They have already prepared labels and will stuff
envelopes and return to the office for postage. They researched and found that there are 514 medical people in the town. This includes doctors, nurses, EMTs, social workers, veterinarians, etc. The WRMRC will provide training and orientation. There is also an informational DVD available. An article in the Banner should be placed in conjunction with the mailing of the letters to inform the residents.
Tobacco Calendars/Contest – Calendars were distributed to the schools. In addition, a letter was sent to the grammar and middle schools letting them know about the contest. Entries are to be received by April 1st.
Flu Clinic – Three clinics held resulting in 140 vaccinations.
Budget – The budget was reviewed/revised and forwarded to the Finance Committee. Lorie will meet with them on Tuesday, February 6th at 7:15 p.m.
PLANS REVIEW
59/61/63/65 Shrewsbury Street (J.M.Grenier Associates) – Approved 1/5/07
Lot 10 Cross Street (Joel Bradford) – Approved 1/5/07
1 Ledgewood Drive (Jeffrey Meyer) – Approved 1/5/07
119 Nicholas Avenue (Bernard Petkus) – Approved 1/5/07
89 Mill Road (Darrin DiLiddo) – Approved.
119 Green Street (Walter Swann) – After further revisions concerning the tributary, the plan was approved. The system is deed restricted to two bedrooms.
Lot 1 Rachel Road (Ron Aspero) – Approved.
259 Mile Hill Road (David & Karen Johnson) – Approved.
Comment on Kalamat, LLC (81 Shrewsbury Street – Frank Tomiaolo) – Cannot make the flows work. There is a nitrogen loading problem. The septic could be approved with the particular flows without a restaurant or coffee shop.
Comment on Redwood Circle (Central Street – Ron Aspero) – The Planning Board requested the Board’s comments regarding suitability. Individual testing is required by the Board. There was sufficient testing on Lots 1, 2, 3 & 5. An answer can be given concerning these lots only, based on the documentation we have. Lot 4 in this subdivision is an existing structure with an existing septic system.
Landfill – Dennis performed a site inspection with Ron St. Michel of Woodard & Curran on December 27th. The brush has been cut. Mr. St. Michel will send a report to the office.
Dennis attended a seminar on the Presby systems. He can now review plans pertaining to this system.
The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
