The Wastewater Treatment Plant Committee met at 9:00 a.m.  Jack O’Connell and David Formato from Tata and Howard, Inc. were present for the meeting along with Carol Gumbart, Conservation Commission Administrative Assistant and Pat Bensetler.

The Committee reviewed the list of information requested prepared by Tata and Howard, Inc.

The Committee reviewed plans that indicated the location of Zone 1 and Zone II in relation to the wells of various locations along route 117.  The plan is to identify a few areas to do preliminary soil testing.

Tata and Howard will focus on the areas closest to schools for the leaching areas.   Ms. Gumbart stated that there is a certified vernal pool in the pole barn area.  There is another vernal pool being observed in this area.

Ms. Bensetler provided a plan and expressed concern of the Historical Commission related to four historic bridges from the 1750’s in the area.  There is also an old stone arch for the old railroad bridge in the area of bridge #3 which is their main point of concern.  Ms. Bensetler stated that there is money from the State.   Ms. Gumbart cautioned whether a stream crossing would be feasible today as there are new crossing standards which includes specific construction to allow for fish and wildlife to pass through.

Mr. Brown stated that the culvert will need to be maintained and he will have to run vehicles over the area.

Tata and Howard were informed that there is a Committee working on the school forecasting information they are requesting.

The Committee recommended that the plan include options for future expansion for a new school.  Other possible tie-ins include: the Town Hall, Fire Station, Flatley building and the Senior Housing and consider the option of a new school.

The Group ventured out for a walk of the property.

Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 7 at 9:00 a.m.
