Public Ways Safety Committee

Members Present: Peter Ross (co-chair), Mary Ciummo (co-chair), Leslie Breeze, Tom Kittler, Rob Hagopian.
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. The minutes for October 12, 2011 and November 9, 2011 were reviewed and approved. The October 26th meeting was attending the Partners for Planning Forum and there was no November 23rd meeting due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Line of Sight Bylaw Update: Peter will contact Linda Day to set up meetings with the BOS and Advisory Committee.
Mobility Plan: Forming a Subcommittee: It was recommended that the committee advertise to attract interested participants, focusing on pedestrian road users, to one of our January meetings. Peter will write up an article and send it to Linda Day.
Master List of Intersections: Route 110: Mary reported the following:
The speed limit on Rt. 110 heading south from the Harvard line is 45mph; 40mph at the curve before Bromfield Laboratories; 30mph before the 117 intersection and after; and 40mph from Bolton Orchards to the Lancaster Line. At the intersections:
- Vaughn Hill Road: a wide angle triangle intersection with a stop sign in the middle. Needs a right lane stop sign. Clear visibility.
- Autumn Lane: clear visibility.
- Merrinott Road: fence on right blocks visibility.
- Nashaway Road: clear visibility.
- Rt. 117: traffic lights. Clear visibility.
BOS Dec. 15th Tree Trimming Policy Meeting: Mary will attend.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05p.m. in order for committee members to attend the Planning Board’s meeting on the Village Overlay District.
