Public Ways Safety Committee
Bolton, Massachusetts
June 10, 2009
Members present: Leslie Breeze, Deborah Kellett, Peter Ross, Rob Hagopian, Cia Ochsenbein, Mary Ciummo.
Invited guest: Tom Kittler.
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. The minutes from the May 27, 2009 meeting were reviewed and approved.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Committee meeting was abbreviated so that we could attend the Planning Board’s public hearing to consider the application for approval of a preliminary Farmland and Open Space Planned Residential Development (FOSPRD) called Meadow View Acres. The meeting time was spent discussing the following issues that were of public safety concern involving this potential development and what we would like to see implemented:
- We would like walkways on the outer roads or, if not, mitigation for the walkways.
- Under the FOSPRD plan, we would like a walkway along the proposed lane and a pedestrian waiting area at the head of the proposed lane for children waiting for the school bus.
- Traffic: The intersection of Sugar and Gold Run is of great concern to us, and we will be watching to see what the developers are going to do. This is a good opportunity to improve the intersection.
Mary will represent the Committee at this meeting and voice the above issues to the Planning Board.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
The next meeting is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.
