Personnel Committee Minutes January 10, 2006

The Personnel Committee met at the Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.  

SICK BANK
Mr. Weiser will forward a draft of the sick bank information he has prepared to the Personnel Committee for review.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS
The Committee received copies of performance evaluations for:  Nat Tipton, Town Planner; Julie Costello, Town Accountant; Carol Gumbart, Conservation Commission Administrative Assistant; Sheila Chmielowski, Director of Council on Aging.

VACATION CARRY OVER
On a motion made by Weiser and seconded by Shapiro the Personnel Committee approved the request of Ms. Schnepf to carry over one week of vacation.

PERSONNEL ACTION DOCUMENTS
Alana Santillo, Reserve Officer – Resignation as of December 12, 2005
Christopher Harrington, Patrolman – Step 5, $22.32

TOWN PLANNER
The Personnel Committee voted to approve the salary of $51,209.60 for the Town Planner (Grade 9, Step 3, $24.62/hr)

PROPOSED SALARY SCHEDULE
Personnel Committee members reviewed the analysis prepared by Mr. Minardi.  Upon review it was determined that there are a couple of adjustments that need to be made to the analysis.  The net impact to implement the new compensation plan for FY07 will be approximately $25,000.  On a motion made by Shapiro and seconded by Weiser, the Personnel Committee voted to approve the proposed compensation and classification plan FY07.

SEMINAR
The Personnel Committee authorized Ms. DiBugnara to attend a seminar.  The Committee agreed to split the cost with Ms. DiBugnara up to $150.00.

PERSONNEL COMMITTEE BUSINESS
The Committee received a copy of their expense ledger for December.

Mr. Minardi will prepare the annual report for the Personnel Committee.

Mr. Minardi agreed to prepare a CD containing the proposed compensation/classification plan for FY07 prepared by Ms. Stapcyznski for all Personnel Committee members.

The Personnel Committee will level fund their budget for FY07 accept for the longevity line which will be determined.  Ms. Day, Town Secretary stated she has asked department heads to provide a list of employees entitled to longevity for FY07.
