The Personnel Committee met at the Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.  

LIBRARY DISCUSSION
Also present:  Kelly Collins, Library Director and Joanne Jenkins, Treasurer
Sr. Library Technician-On Call and Assistant Library Director and Youth Services Director job descriptions:

Discussion with Kelly Collins about existing Job Descriptions for Library Director, Assistant Library Director, Senior Library Technician, Senior Library Technician for Youth Services, Staff Librarian, and Library Assistant.

New proposed descriptions Library Director, Assistant Library Director and Youth Services Directory, Senior Library Technician, Senior Library Technician - On Call and Library Assistant.

Ms. DiBugnara spoke with Massachusetts Department of Labor regarding rules related to wages and hours.    State Wage Payment Laws – An employee who reports for work by request or permission of employer must be paid for a minimum of 3 hours.  

-Discussion about stepping vs. non-stepping, on-call, etc.

-Discussion of current hours at Library, expected new hires (one accepted, one pending).

The Personnel Committee agreed to table the discussion regarding the On-Call position based on current new hire prospects.  Expecting temporary or on call hours to no longer be needed.

Vacation Days:  The Personnel Committee approved the request of Ms. Collins to carry over two vacations days into FY06.

The next Personnel Committee meeting is scheduled for September 6th and the agenda will include:  Ms. Collins will bring a copy of the Library schedule;   the newly drafted Assistant Library Director description will be reviewed for approval by the Personnel Committee; and Discussion of exit strategy (legal) for existing temporary employees.
