BOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES
Meeting Held at the Houghton Building on August 28, 2012 at 6:30 PM

Not Present:            Laura Andrews, Clerk
Also Present:           Bill Brookings, Health Agent, Nashoba Associated Boards of Health and
                        Michelle Carlisle, Health and Permitting Assistant

Call to order:     6:31pm

Minutes reviewed for 8/14/12:
  •  C. Rogers moved to approve the minutes of 8/14/12, C. Slade 2nd. All in favor 2/0.
Mail Reviewed:

Action/Discussion:
  • Corn Road trash compliant and unsafe structure complaint.
  • Board reviewed the complaint.
  • C. Slade asked if this is a legal building lot. M. Carlisle to ask Jenny Burney.
  • Building inspector did a site visit and has deemed the barn an unsafe structure.
Building Permits Reviewed:
  • Cider Circle, Old Stone Estates – pump house. Bill signed 8/10/12.
  • 12 Deer Path Road, Demmer – basement renovation. Bill signed 8/14/12.
  • 585 Sugar Rd., Sorgi – above ground pool. Bill signed 8/21/12.  
Septic Permits Reviewed:
  • 284 Green Rd., Masse – new permit.
  • Property owners are requesting an onsite variance for the septic system to be less than 150’ from the existing well.
  • C. Rogers motioned to approve the variance request as presented, C. Slade 2nd. All in favor 2/0.
  • M. Carlisle to send letter.
  • Lot 1 Vaughn Hill Rd., Beauchemin – new septic. Board approved.
  • Complete redesign from the original plan which was approved in 2010. Variance free.
  • Lot 1A Spectacle Hill Rd., Elworthy – new septic. Move to next agenda.
454 Harvard Rd., Nesman – septic upgrade. Board approved.
  • Variance free.
  • Lot 20 Fox Run Rd., Pine Hill Realty Trust – new septic. Board approved.
  • Property owner obtained written permission from the abutters to accept the variances being requested: 11 foot offset from a property line, 64 foot offset to a wetland with a “micro-fast” system and a 49 foot offset to a wetland with a “micro-fast” system.
  • M. Carlisle to send letter.
  • Sunset Ridge Lane, Bldg 2, Heritage Properties – sewer line permit. Board approved.
  • 172 Ballville Rd., Tate – D-box permit. Board approved.
Inspections reviewed:
  • 128 Hudson Rd., Ozaydin – Title 5. Board approved.
  • 172 Ballville Rd., Tate – Title 5. Board approved.
  • System pumped by an unlicensed hauler.
  • M. Carlisle to send letter.
C. Rogers moved to adjourn the Board of Health meeting at 7:04pm, C. Slade 2nd. All in favor 2/0.
