BOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES
Meeting Held at Town Hall on November 8, 2011 at 6:30 PM

Also Present: Bill Brookings, Health Agent, Nashoba Associated Boards of Health and
Michelle Carlisle, Health and Permitting Assistant
Call to order: 6:43pm
Minutes reviewed for 10/25/11:
- C. Rogers moved to approve the minutes of 10/25/11, C. Slade 2nd. All in favor 2/0.
Mail Reviewed:
- Variance Request for Lot 2 Wattaquadock Hill Road. Variance not required with the new regulations.
Action/Discussion:
- 168 Berlin Road housing inspection.
- B. Brookings explained to the Board his housing inspection. Most important was there were no smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors. B. Brookings sent a letter stating that it needs to be done within 24 hours. Other violations need to be corrected within 30 days.
- 194 Annie Moore Road sewer line replacement by unlicensed installer. B. Brookings called the installer and he is now licensed.
- Landfill sampling – last done January 4, 2011.
- Joel Frisch stated that we could reduce our cost to about $6,000 if the Board suspends well sampling of bordering private wells for a couple of years.
- M. Carlisle to contact Joel and ask him to refresh the Board’s memory on their plan that was discussed a few years ago.
Building Permits Reviewed:
- 336 Sugar Rd., LaQuidara – car port. Bill signed 10/21/11.
- 149 Kettle Hole Rd., Zigelmiller – replace damaged decking. Bill signed 10/28/11.
- 81 Annie Moore Rd., Speddeen – finish attic. Bill reviewed and signed 11/8/11.
- 50 Mechanic St., Town of Bolton – nurse’s reception area at Emerson School. Bill reviewed and signed 11/8/11.
- 68 Old Harvard Rd., Folsom – deck 8’x16’. Bill reviewed and signed 11/8/11.
Septic Permits Reviewed:
- 27 Bare Hill Rd., McGrath – D box replacement. Move to next agenda.
- 302 Vaughn Hill Rd., Mercurio - D box replacement. Move to next agenda.
- Lots 22 & 23 Century Mill Estates – new shared system permit. Move to next agenda.
- 41 Woobly Rd., Gorby - upgrade permit. Board reviewed, variance free. Sewer line over 100’ requires Board’s review. Board has decided to require a Deed Restriction with annual inspection by homeowner.
- M. Carlisle to send letter.
- Lot 2 Wattaquadock Hill Rd., Breslouf – new septic system permit. Move to next agenda.
Inspections reviewed:
- 27 Bare Hill Rd., McGrath – Title 5. Move to next agenda.
- 302 Vaughn Hill Rd., Mercurio - Title 5. Move to next agenda.
- 25 Manor Rd., Stephenson – Title 5. Approved.
- 35 Woodside Dr., Elliot – Title 5. Missing ties to septic tank. B. Brookings spoke with inspector. He will send correction.
C. Rogers moved to adjourn the Board of Health meeting at 7:10pm, C. Slade 2nd. All in favor 2/0.
