BOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES
Meeting Held at Town Hall on May 10, 2011 at 6:30 PM

Also Present: Bill Brookings, Health Agent, Nashoba Associated Boards of Health and
Michelle Carlisle, Health and Permitting Assistant
Call to order: 6:30pm
Minutes reviewed for 3/22/11 and 4/26/11:
- L. Andrews moved to approve the minutes of 3/22/11, C. Slade 2nd. All in favor 2/0.
- C. Rogers moved to approve the minutes of 4/26/11, C. Slade 2nd. All in favor 2/0.
Mail Reviewed:
Action/Discussion:
- Board signed the Trash licenses for Waste Management. M. Carlisle to contact MIH Trucking.
- Mosquito Dunks have been ordered.
- 356 Main Street tent and outside food service.
- Bruce Slater, owner, appeared before the Board to review his plans to put up (2) 20X30 tents.
- B. Brookings wanted the Board to be aware of the number of seating inside and that the additional seating outside would not include food service.
- L. Andrews moved to approve the outside tents with extra sanitation, C. Rogers 2nd. All in favor 3/0.
- Century Mill Estates. Property owner owes the Town back taxes. Board discussed the Town By-Laws regarding what they can do regarding the (6) septic permits that are pending with Bill Brookings.
- C. Slade stated that he would like to accept the applications and hold any hearings, if necessary, with the understanding that permits can’t be issued until the taxes have been paid.
- Walter Graustein, Lot 3 Sugar Road – conservation asked that the well be moved approximately 6 feet closer to the wetlands.
- Walter Graustein, property owner and Neil Gorhman from David E. Ross appeared before the Board to explain what Conservation is asking them to do. Conservation would like the well moved about 6 feet closer to the wetlands to preserve a large mature pine tree and the surrounding trees.
- L. Andrews moved to approve the change as presented, C. Slade 2nd. All in favor. 3/0.
- M. Carlisle to send letter.
Building Permits Reviewed:
- 212 Berlin Road. John DiGeronimo, owner, appeared before the Board to review his revisions from a December 2010 application for a new barn. Board approved original application in December. Barn will be an additional 10 feet away from the well. Bill signed 5/10/11.
- 404 S. Bolton Road, R. Minardi – Tent. Bill signed 4/29/11.
- 297 Long Hill, M. Concino – detached garage. Bill signed 4/29/11.
Septic Permits Reviewed:
- Sawyer Road Realty Trust, Lot 6 Sawyer Rd – permit extension request. Move to next agenda.
- Houghton Farm shared system permits. Move to next agenda.
- Century Mill Estates shared system permits. Moved to next agenda.
Inspections reviewed:
- 350 Berlin Road – garbage grinder not marked as to if they have one or not. M. Carlisle to send letter.
- 39 Drumlin Hill Road – cracked septic tank. M. Carlisle to send letter that tank needs to be replaced.
- 36 Nashaway Road. Approved.
- 22 Kettlehole Road – water filter discharging into the system. M. Carlisle to send letter that it needs to be removed.
L. Andrews moved to adjourn at 7:04pm, C. Rogers 2nd. All in favor 3/0.
