BOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES

Meeting held at Town Hall on May 26, 2009 6:30 pm
Members present: Chris Rogers, Christopher Slade, Laura Andrews, Lisa O’Leary

MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT
Don Lowe Town Administrator was present.
Don want Ken Gikas give us a letter that states no longer requires a town meeting vote per MGL.
Don asked the Board what they thought about the legislature – the Board thought it was a good idea for Don to call the Senator’s office to recommend that the bill be pushed through.  The Board will send a memo to the Board of Selectmen recommending that they sign the agreement.

233 WATTAQUADOCK HILL RD.
Mr. Cerny has a failed system and wants to install a White Night treatment system rehab.  Minimum requirements of the site is to do a soil evaluation, it must  prove that the existing system is 2 ft above the water table and is adequately sized by doing a percolation test  (last one 1965).  The Board agreed that a new percolation test will be required because the last one was done so long ago.  There were discrepancies on the last two reports that have not yet been clarified so we don’t know yet if there is a bed or leach field.  The Board will have Bill Brookings follow up and report status on this system.

344 OLD BAY RD.
The Board received a complaint about Mark Caissie’s outdoor wood fired boiler.  If  the outdoor boiler is less that 500 ft from the residence it cannot be operated.  The Board will speak to Mark and set up a site visit to measure the location of the heater to the abutter’s home.

718 MAIN STREET
Tight tank system letters have been sent to Denise Tallarida asking for copies of the current pumping contract and all pumping records, to date none have been received.  Requirement of a tight tank is to submit pumping records.  The Board agreed to have Lisa O’Leary try to contact Ms. Tallarida to get the information required.

198 MAIN ST.
Walter Haslett sent a letter and pictures in response to the Board’s letter dated 5/21/09 regarding the water softener system discharging into the septic system.  The Board reviewed the information provided and found the report is now complete.
