The Bolton Cultural Council has announced the award of 15 grants listed below totaling $4,000, for cultural programs from organizations and artists from Bolton and the surrounding communities whose projects serve Bolton residents and those of adjacent towns.  The grants were awarded from a pool of funds distributed to Bolton by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency that supports public programs and educational activities in the arts, sciences and humanities.

Recipients include:  Friends of the Bolton Public Library; Bolton Council on Aging; Florence Sawyer School Parents Advisory Council; Harvard Pro Musica; Sounds of Stow; Audio Journal; Florence Sawyer School student field trip to The Bostonian Society at the Old State House; Symphony Pro Musica; DeCordova Museum & Sculpture Park; Village Theatre Project; Hudson Arts Alliance; and Tower Hill Botanical Garden.

The Bolton Cultural Council is part of a grass-roots network of 335 local councils that serve every city and town in the Commonwealth.  The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which then allocates funds to each local council.  Decisions about which activities to support are made at the community level by a board of municipally appointed volunteers.

The Bolton Cultural Council welcomes input and involvement from Bolton residents.  Please contact the BCC by email at kgordon75@comcast.net for more information.
