Minutes from the meetings of Nov 12th, 2007 and Jan 14, 2008 were approved.

The Treasurer's Report, pending a transitional update, will be E-mailed to all members by new Treasurer, Judy Leonard.

The Chairman reported on receipt of FY08 Grant applications, which were shared for review and discussion.  Also discussed was the likely cutback of MCC funding this year, due to financial downturns and state shortfalls, from Bolton’s intended allocation of $ 4,300.  When the state’s final allocations are apportioned in Jan 08, the committee agreed to modify the council’s voted upon applicant rewards amounts by the same percentage, unless cuts exceed 30%, in which case consideration will be given to meeting again for final discussion.  Ways of prioritizing the selection process were discussed, and Conflict of Interest Disclosure forms were signed by those with close involvement in applicant organizations

Judy Leonard reported continued interest in collaborating on a photography event, and met with the Bolton Conservation Commission last Spring regarding a possible co-collaboration.

Yan Rong, a guest representing the local Chinese community in Bolton, came to announce the group's intention to again hold a community wide Chinese New Year celebration this coming winter to educate and share cultural awareness.  They again requested Cultural Council Sponsorship.  The group was unanimously endorsed, with all members lauding the impressive management and success of last years event, which featured music and dance performances and demonstrations of Chinese food, art and culture.  The group expects to be fully self funded but asked for assistance in the areas of venue and publicity.  Judy Leonard will explore school use and Tricia Sohl-Dickstein will give aid again with publicity.

Meeting adjourned.
