Cemetery Committee
Meeting Date: January 11, 2007 Present: Harold Brown

The Cemetery Committee met at 1:30PM at the Public Works Office.
On a motion made by Harold Brown and seconded by Brenda Baum, the Committee voted unanimously to increase Cemetery fees as follows:
$ 500.00 grave opening - Monday through Friday
$ 550.00 grave opening - Saturday or Sunday
$ 200.00 cremation opening
$1000.00 grave opening - Holiday
On a motion made by Brenda Baum and seconded by Harold Brown, the Committee voted unanimously to restrict traffic to “one-way” in West and South cemeteries. Entrances will be on the east sides of the cemeteries and exits will be on the west sides of the cemeteries.
The committee agreed to remove dead trees at South Cemetery.
Committee members agreed to contact all other committee members when distributing plot reservations to residents. This will help keep the records more accurate.
Members discussed repairing the gate at Pan Cemetery. It was agreed that the repair will wait until the end of the cemetery expansion job.
Committee members discussed continuing the expansion job at Pan Cemetery to include “pinning”. This project will add approximately 264 graves to this cemetery. They will investigate placing a restriction on the new section for “flush” stones only in order to maximize the size of the area and keep maintenance costs low. Residents wishing to reserve a plot in this section would be told of the restrictions in advance.
It appears that there are 158 graves available at South Cemetery.
It was discussed to take one of the roads out of West Cemetery to allow for more room for graves. This would be the road that is on the east side of the cemetery.
The committee agreed to have Lauren Ferrechio and other summer employees / EMTs continue working on the Excel spreadsheet / map for the cemeteries.
