Chairman Cote called the Advisory Committee meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

HUMAN SERVICES AND SAFETY COMMITTEE, ACCOUNT 590
Pat Bensetler, Chairman of the Human Services and Safety Committee attended the meeting.
Ms. Bensetler presented her budget. The Advisory Committee voted to defer their approval of the budget to future meeting that Ms. Bensetler will be invited to attend.

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, ACCOUNT 291
Acting Police Chief Nelson and Fire Chief John Mentzer, Co-Directors attended the meeting.
The Emergency Management budget was revised as follows:

Supplies (5400) from $2,400 to $1,200

On a motion made by Lauer and seconded by Kirchner, the Advisory Committee voted to approve the budget as amended.  (Cote – yes, Myerson – yes, Kirchner – yes, Lauer – yes)

POLICE DEPARTMENT, ACCOUNTS 200, 210 AND 299
Acting Police Chief Nelson attended the meeting.

The Public Safety Building, Account 200 was revised as follows:

Purchase of Service (5200) from $212,699 to $238,699, which is a $26,000 increase as a result of the Nashoba Regional Valley Dispatch annual fee increase from $145,000 to $171,000.

Police Department, Account 210 was revised as follows:

Supplies (5400) will be renamed Cruiser Supplies.

Communications, Account 299 was revised as follows:
Supplies (5400) in the amount of $5,000 will be moved to Police Department, Account 210 and called office supplies.

The budgets for the Public Safety Building, Police Department and Communications weren’t finalized at this meeting.  

LIBRARY, ACCOUNT 610
The Library Trustees met with the Advisory Committee to continue the discussion about the request for an additional 2 hours and subsequent and benefit-eligible position.
The Advisory Committee was informed by the Library Trustees that part-timers are provided contracts and the trustees must budget for 52 weeks.  ~A shortfall in wages would not be eligible for an Advisory Committee reserve fund transfer~as stipulated by Mass General Laws.~
 
On a motion made by Cote and seconded by Kirchner, the Advisory Committee voted to disapprove the request for an increase in hours.  (Cote – yes, Kirchner – yes, Myerson –no, Lauer – no)  The Advisory Committee agreed to revote at the next Advisory Committee meeting when member Connie Benjamin would be present.

Adjustments were made to the Library budget as follows:
Heat (5210) from $19,220 to $15,500
Electric (5211) from $18,200 to $17,000

On a motion made by Lauer and seconded by Myerson, the Advisory Committee voted to adjourn.  (Cote – yes, Kirchner – yes, Myerson –yes, Lauer – yes)
