The Advisory Committee met at the Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.

REQUEST FOR TRANSFERS - FY09
Ambulance - Present:  Margy Diaz, Ambulance Director

On a motion made by Shnitzler and seconded by Dinjian, the Advisory Committee voted to approve the transfer request in the amount of $2,500 to the Ambulance account #231, line item 5116 wages for EMT shifts.  These funds will cover wages of the EMTs because of an increase in calls including the December 11, 2008 ice storm.  (Lindsay – yes, Shnitzler – yes, Dinjian – yes, Benjamin – yes, Czekanski – yes)

Fire Department – Present:  John Stephenson, Fire Chief

On a motion made by Shnitzler and seconded by Benjamin, the Advisory Committee voted to approve the transfer request in the amount of $8,000 to the Fire account #220, line item 5115 wages - firefighters.  These funds will cover the wages of firefighters due to an increase in calls. (Lindsay – yes, Shnitzler – yes, Dinjian – yes, Benjamin – yes, Czekanski – yes)

Veterans Agent – On a motion made by Shnitzler and seconded by Czekanski, the Advisory Committee voted to rescind the amount of $7,241.00 from a transfer request previously approved on July 1, 2008.  (Lindsay – yes, Shnitzler – yes, Dinjian – yes, Benjamin – yes, Czekanski – yes)

Treasurer – On a motion made by Czekanski and seconded by Shnitzler, the Advisory Committee voted to approve the transfer request in the amount of $560.00 to Treasurer’s account #145, line item 5780 Miscellaneous for 2009 BAN costs.  Ms. Madden explained that this bill was for the last June’s $150,807 BAN.  First Southwest charges for their services in handling the paperwork, filing with the IRS, etc. and their fee has increased moderately.  (Lindsay – yes, Shnitzler – yes, Dinjian – yes, Benjamin – yes, Czekanski – yes)

REQUEST FOR TRANSFERS – FY10
Tax Collector - On a motion made by Shnitzler and seconded by Czekanski, the Advisory Committee voted to approve the transfer request in the amount of $1,770 to the Tax Collector’s account 146, line item 5114 wages for the purpose of providing a substitute worker while the assistant tax collector is on vacation and to keep the office open on Thursday’s during the summers.   (Lindsay – yes, Shnitzler – yes, Dinjian – yes, Benjamin – yes, Czekanski – yes)


REORGANIZATION
On a motion made by Shnitzler and seconded by Benjamin, the Advisory Committee voted to appoint Mr. Lindsay as chairman.  (Lindsay – yes, Shnitzler – yes, Dinjian – yes, Benjamin – yes, Czekanski – yes)

ASSOCIATION OF TOWN FINANCE COMMITTEES
On a motion made by Benjamin and seconded by Czekanski, the Advisory Committee voted to approve the payment of membership dues in the amount of $152.00 for the Association of Town Finance Committees.   (Lindsay – yes, Shnitzler – yes, Dinjian – yes, Benjamin – yes, Czekanski – yes)

BOLTON CELEBRATES
The Advisory Committee’s consensus was that an article should be presented at town meeting to give voters the opportunity to vote on whether town funds should be contributed by the town of Bolton for the fireworks display.

SALARY SCHEDULE
The Advisory Committee would like to see the salary schedule reviewed to determine if the bottom range of the salary schedule needs to be adjusted.   Mr. Dinjian also noted that a comprehensive review of the salary schedule should be initiated soon

NEXT MEETING
The Advisory Committee will meet on Monday, July 27th.  The Conservation Commission will be invited to the meeting to provide an update on Fyfeshire Dam.  The Public Safety Committee will be invited to the meeting to provide an update on the Public Safety Center project.

On a motion made by Shnitzler and seconded by Dinjian, the Advisory Committee voted to adjourn.
