A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Nicole Plourde, Donald Labrecque, Lynn Moore, Louise Valliere, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Amy Huter, Dan Record, Kevin Carpenter, Julie King, Martha Miller, Roland Pinette, Autie Hamilton, Bob Thompson, Scott Losier, Laura Hosley, and a member of the press.
MINUTES On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the December 17, 2015 meeting, public session and nonpublic sessions. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, January 4, and January 11, 2015 for the amounts of $14,117.14 and $276,135.90. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.

COMMENTS None
POLICY EBBC The Board reviewed updated information from the Public Health Network on state distribution of narcan. Discussion ensued on amending policy EBBC to reflect narcan as a measure for emergency first aid care. On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the revision of Policy, EBBC – Emergency Care and First Aid. The motion passed unanimously.
FY17 BUDGET The Administrative team reviewed the FY 17 Budget requests by buildings, technology, and special education. The Board recommended a decrease in the budget request to reflect no more than a 2.5% increase over the current year which represents a $720,682 decrease over the Administrative request.
COMMENTS Roland Pinette thanked Donald Labrecque for his service.
MEMBER BUSINESS Donald Labrecque thanked the group for the collaboration and participation. He commended all the Administrators.
Nicole Plourde made a gift presentation to recognize Donald Labrecque’s service to the Board.
NON-PUBLIC On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 8:35 p.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II, (a), (b) & (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 9:20 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. No additional votes were taken in nonpublic session
ADJOURN On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 9:23 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.

NONPUBLIC SESSION

On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 8:35 pm in accordance with RSA 91-A3II (a), (b), and (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
The Board members conducted and reviewed the performance evaluation of the Superintendent.
On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 9:23 p.m.~ The motion passed unanimously.~
