A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Nicole Plourde, Lynn Moore, Donald Labrecque, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Julie King, Amy Huter, Tim Forestall, Dan Record, Autie Hamilton, Bob Thompson, Roland Pinette, Cheryl Pinette, Nancy Forestall, and Debbie Dupuis.
MINUTES On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the April 16, 2015 meeting public and nonpublic sessions. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, May 4, 2015 and May 11, 2015 for the amounts of $15,025.69 and $177,199.39. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
FINANCIAL REPORT The Board reviewed and approved the Financial Report.

SUPER’S REPORT The Superintendent informed the Board of the following issues:
- End of School Year Activities
- CTE Open House on May 27, 2015
- City Budget Hearing on May 27, 2015
- Annual North Country Scholars Breakfast at White Mtn. Regional HS
- BHS Valedictorian – Dustin Moore, BHS Salutatorian – Christopher Lamphere, CTE Top Student- Levi Arsenault
COMMENTS None
MEMBER BUSINESS Donald Labrecque commented on the Water Treatment Plant tours taken by the First and Second Graders at Brown School.
The Superintendent introduced Bob Thompson, Project Manager for AWARE
The Superintendent informed the Board of a request from the Milan School Board to have a joint meeting with an attorney from NHSBA.
Discussion ensued regarding funding for an additional English Teacher at BHS. The Board felt that should a position be added it should be for substantive rigorous classes. The high school will reallocate their current resources for this position.
NON PUBLIC On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 6:20 p.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II, (a), (b) & (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 6:44 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. No additional votes were taken in nonpublic session.
BESS On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to approve the BESS Tentative Agreement. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
STAFFING On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore the Board voted to approve the following staffing changes:
Resignation:
Gary Riendeau – Bus Driver District.
The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURN On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 6:50 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.

NONPUBLIC SESSION
May 7, 2015
On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 6:20 pm in accordance with RSA 91-A3II (a), (b), and (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
The Board reviewed a settlement of a Manifest Educational Hardship request
The Board discussed staffing.
The Board discussed a joint meeting with the Milan School Board and is in agreement to hold it on May 26, 2015.
The Board discussed the BESS Tentative Agreement.
On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 6:44 p.m.~ The motion passed unanimously.~
