A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Nicole Plourde, Lynn Moore, Donald Labrecque, Denise Valerino, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Julie King, Martha Miller, Tim Forestall, Gary Bisson, Dan Record, Roland Pinette, Cheryl Pinette, Autie Hamilton, Kayla Steady, Nicole Arguin, Nathan Roberge, Michael Smith, Amy Welch, David Griffin, parents and students for Destination Imagination, and a member of the press.
DESTINATION Two teams from Destination Imagination presented their skits to the Board.
MINUTES On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the March 4, 2015 meeting public and nonpublic sessions. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, March 16, 2015 and March 23, 2015 for the amounts of $18,312.41 and $114,654.80. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
FINANCIAL REPORT The Board reviewed and approved the financial report
COMMENTS None
FY 16 BUDGET The Board reviewed budget cuts. An early retirement incentive for teachers was discussed. It was determined this incentive would not be cost effective. An early retirement incentive for Educational Assistants was also discussed.
SUPER’S REPORT Dan Record presented an update and review of one to one technology and KUNOS Data was presented on student engagement, teacher use, and student learning.
Nathan Roberge and Nicole Arguin gave a presentation on Curriculum Loft.
The Superintendent informed the Board of the following issues:
- Investment in Early Childhood
- “Edies” Award
- Smarter Balanced Assessment

MEMBER BUSINESS Lynn Moore extended a thank you to all the winter sports teams.
NON PUBLIC On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 7:33 p.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II, (a), (b) & (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 8:42 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. No additional votes were taken in nonpublic session.
STAFFING On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the following staffing:

The motion passed unanimously.
BENEFITS On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to approve the benefits as presented for the new Project AWARE Manager position. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
ADJOURN On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Denise Valerino, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 8:50 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.

On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 7:33 pm in accordance with RSA 91-A3II (a), (b), and (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
The Board reviewed staffing.
Renewals and Non renewals were discussed in relation to the FY 16 Budget.
Salary and Benefits for the new project manager position were reviewed.
On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 8:42 p.m.~ The motion passed unanimously.~
