A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Nicole Plourde, Lynn Moore, Louise Valliere, Denise Valerino, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, and Paul Bousquet.
MINUTES On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the February 5, 2015 meeting, public and nonpublic sessions. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the warrant dated, February 23, 2015 for the amount of $76,281.55. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
FINANCIAL REPORT The Board reviewed and approved the financial report.
COMMENTS None
NON PUBLIC On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 6:11 p.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II, (a), (b) & (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 7:30 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. No additional votes were taken in nonpublic session.
STAFFING On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Denise Valerino, the Board voted to approve the following staffing changes:
Resignations:
Karen Murphy – Educational Asst – Brown School
Cassandra Micucci – Educational Asst – Hillside School
Nominations:
Deborah Smith – Cafeteria Worker – BMS/Hillside School
Diane Drew – Cafeteria Worker – BHS
All nominations are contingent on the applicant passing a background check.
The motion passed unanimously.
MANIFEST EDUC On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to grant a request for reassignment of a student from Milan to Gorham. The motion passed unanimously.
On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Denise Valerino, the Board voted not to grant a request for reassignment of a second student from Milan to Gorham. The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURN On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 7:37p.m. The motion passed unanimously.

NONPUBLIC SESSION

On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 6:11 pm in accordance with RSA 91-A3II (a), (b), and (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
The Board reviewed staffing.
The Board heard two cases of Manifest Educational Hardship to reassign students to Gorham from Milan. The Board approved one case, disapproved one, and a third case was not addressed due to the parties involved not appearing before the Board.
On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 7:30 p.m.~ The motion passed unanimously.~
