A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Nicole Plourde, Louise Valliere, Lynn Moore, Denise Valerino, Bryan Lamirande, Tim Forestall, Roland Pinette, Cheryl Pinette, Julie King, Debora Payeur, and Autie Hamilton.
MINUTES On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the June 19, 2014 and July 1, 2014 meetings, public and non- public sessions. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Denise Valerino, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, July 21, and July 22, 2014 for the amounts of $505,780.72, and $20,853.65. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
FINANCIAL REPORT None
COMMENTS None
SUPER’S REPORT The Superintendent informed the Board of the following:
- The certification of Project Lead the Way (PLTW)
COMMENTS None
MEMBER BUSINESS The Board congratulated Roland Pinette on the work he has done with the PLTW program.
NON PUBLIC On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 6:05 p.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II, (a), (b) & (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 6:55 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. No additional votes were taken in nonpublic session
STAFFING On a motion by Denise Valerino, seconded by Lynn Moore, the Board voted to approve the following staffing changes with the elimination of the guidance counselor nominee:

Lisa Bagley – Educational Assistant – Hillside School
NOMINATIONS:
Benn Davison – IT Technician – District
Martha Miller – Special Education Director
Courtney Hamel – Title I Math Interventionist – Brown School
Stephanie Tyler – Title I Math Interventionist – Hillside School
Lana Gilcris – Title I Math Interventionist – Hillside School
TEACHER NOMINATIONS:
Carissa Caron – Grade 5 Hillside School
William Barth – English – Berlin Middle School
All nominations are contingent on the applicant passing a background check and receipt of certification.
The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURN On a motion by Lynn Moore, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 7:00 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
