A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Louise Valliere, Nicole Plourde, Kenneth Proulx, Donald Labrecque, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Tim Forestall, Amy Huter, Elizabeth Deen, Jane Provencher, Roland Pinette, Cheryl Pinette, Ann Nolin, Angela Duquette, Nancy Brannen, Amy Drapeau, Lynn Moore, Anne
Elise Record, Ted McCormick, and member of the press.
MINUTES On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Kenneth Proulx, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the April 4, 2013 and April 10, 2013 meetings, public and nonpublic sessions. Discussion ensued regarding the Technology Integrator position. The motion passed unanimously.
VICE-CHAIR On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Kenneth Proulx the Board nominated Donald Labrecque to replace Nathan Morin as Vice-Chair. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
WARRANTS On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the warrant dated, April 22, 2013 for the amount of $312,131.93. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
FINANCIAL REPORT The Board reviewed and approved the financial report.
COMMENTS None
2nd RDG POLICIES On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Kenneth Proulx, the Board voted to approve the second reading of Policy JLCH – Do Not Resuscitate Orders/Do Not Attempt to Resuscitate. The motion passed unanimously.
SUPER’S REPORT The Superintendent informed the Board of the following issues:
- Replacement for AREA Study Committee will be Donald Labrecque
- Hillside PBIS Presentation
COMMENTS Jane Provencher informed the Board the Title I Reading Rodeo event was well received, and that all the children received books. She also let them know that Rick Charette will be performing in the BMS auditorium on May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. to promote family involvement.
NEW BUSINESS Nicole Plourde thanked Jane Provencher for her years of service and for all she has done for the district.
NON PUBLIC On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 6:35 p.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II, (a), (b) & (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Kenneth Proulx, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 9:05 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. No additional votes were taken in nonpublic session.
STAFFING On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Kenneth Proulx, the Board voted to approve the following staff changes:

Elizabeth Roy – School Nurse – BMS/Hillside
Julie Nicoletti – School Nurse – BMS/Hillside
Administrator/Director Re-nominations as presented.
The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURN On a motion by Kenneth Proulx, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 9:08 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
