A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Louise Valliere, Nicole Plourde, Donald Labrecque, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Dan Record, Amy Huter, Tim Forestall, Gary Bisson, Liz Deen, Roland Pinette, and members of the press.
MINUTES On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the November 15, 2012 meeting, public and nonpublic sessions. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Louise Valliere, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, December 3, and December 10, 2012 for the amounts of $19,167.27, and $372,234.36. Discussion ensued. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
FINANCIAL REPORT The Board reviewed and approved the financial report

BUILDING TRADES On a motion Louise Valliere, seconded by Donald Labrecque, the Board voted to extend the Building Trades contact for FY 14 with Jeff and Janet Mercier. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
2nd RDG POLICIES On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the second reading of Policies – JAB – Mission/Vision Statement, JEB – Age of Entrance, JG – Assignment of Students to Classes and Grade Levels.. The motion passed unanimously.
TABLED POLICIES On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to remove policy JCA and JEC from the table.
1st RDG POLICIES On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the first reading of Policies JFA – Residency, JFAA – Admission of Resident Students, JFAB – Admission of Tuition Students, JFABD – Admission of Homeless Students, JFABB – Foreign Exchange Students, JHC – Student Early Release, JI – Students Rights and Responsibilities, JIA – Student Due Process, JIB – Student Involvement, JIBA – Student Government, JIC – Student Conduct, JCA – Change of School or Assignment, JEC- Manifest Educational Hardship. The motion passed unanimously.
SUPER’S REPORT The Superintendent informed the Board on the following Issues:

NEW BUSINESS None
NON PUBLIC The Board agreed there was no need for a nonpublic session.
STAFFING On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to approve the following staffing changes:

The motion passed unanimously.

ADJOURN On a motion by Donald Labrecque, seconded by Louise Valliere, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 6:25 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
