A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were, Nicole Plourde, Martha Laflamme, Nathan Morin, Linda Pivin ,Karin Dorval, Corinne Cascadden, Beverly Dupont, Dan Record, staff, students, and members of the press.
WARRANTS On a motion by Nathan Morin, seconded by Linda Pivin, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, April 25, 2011 and May 9, 2011 for the amounts of $4,233.62, and $21,371.88. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
COMMENTS None
NEW BUSINESS On a motion by Linda Pivin, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to approve the schedule of Berlin Board of Education meetings for the 2011-2012 school year as amended. The motion passed unanimously.
On a motion by Karin Dorval, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to remove Policy KA from the table. The motion passed unanimously. On a motion by Karin Dorval, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to approve the second reading of Policy – KA –School, Community, and Home Relations as amended. The motion passed unanimously.
The Superintendent informed the Board that the City Budget was being worked on that night.
The Superintendent informed the Board that the AREA agreement meeting would be held on July 11, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Milan Village School.
STAFFING On a motion by Linda Pivin, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to approve the following staffing changes:

Justin Jacques – Individual Aide – Brown School
Marlena Buzzell – BJHs/Hillside Cafeteria
Maternity Leave request by Elizabeth Beaulieu.
The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURN On a motion by Linda Pivin, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 6:10 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
