A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were, Nicole Plourde, Martha Laflamme, Nathan Morin, Linda Pivin, Corinne Cascadden, Bryan Lamirande, Beverly Dupont, Dan Record, Gary Bisson, Amy Huter, Roland Pinette, Jane Provencher, Bailey Rigg, William Jones, Ernie, Jessica, and Abigail Blais, staff, and members of the press.
MINUTES On a motion by Linda Pivin, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the March 17, and April 7, 2011 meetings, public and non public sessions. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS On a motion by Linda Pivin, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the warrants dated, March 28, 2011 and April 11, 2011 for the amounts of $7,251.03, and $485,773.55 Discussion ensued regarding course reimbursement. On a roll call vote, Nathan Morin, Martha Laflamme, and Nicole Plourde voted in the affirmative; Linda Pivin voted in the negative. The motion passed by a 3 to 1 margin.
FINANCIAL REPORT The financial report was reviewed and accepted by the Board.

The motion passed unanimously.
2nd RDG- H- POLICIES On a motion by Martha Laflamme, seconded by Linda Pivin, the Board voted to approve the second reading of H Policies- HP and HPA. The motion passed unanimously.
2nd RDG – L – POLICIES On a motion by Linda Pivin, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to approve the second reading of L-Policies – LA, LC, LDA, LEB, and LI. The motion passed unanimously.
SNOW DAY On a motion by Linda Pivin, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the Superintendent’s request to apply for a waiver for one snow day. The motion passed unanimously.
SUPER’S REPORT The Superintendent informed the Board of the following issues:

NON PUBLIC On a motion by Nathan Morin, seconded by Linda Pivin, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 6:45 p.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II, (a), (b) & (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Martha Laflamme, seconded by Linda Pivin, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 8:03 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. No additional votes were taken in nonpublic session.

GUIDELINES On a motion by Martha Laflamme, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the Cafeteria Guidelines as presented to the Board. The motion passed unanimously.
ADMISSION On a motion by Nathan Morin, seconded by Linda Pivin, the Board voted to approve a request for an early kindergarten admission. The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURN On a motion by Nathan Morin, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 8:10 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
