A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Office of the Superintendent beginning at 6:40 a.m. Present for the meeting were Mitch Couture, Martha Laflamme, Nicole Plourde, Corinne Cascadden, and Marion Huntley.
WARRANTS A motion was made by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Martha Laflamme, to approve the warrants dated July 12, and July 13, 2009 for the amounts of $84,022.95 and $498,737.71 respectively. Discussion ensued regarding refreshments, tuition, and mileage. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
BREAD BID On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to award the bread bid for the 2009-2010 school year to IBC Sales Corporation and the milk bid to HP Hood. The motion passed unanimously.
MEAL/MILK RATES On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to maintain the same meal and milk rates for the 2009-2010 school year. The rates will be:
Breakfast: $.90
Lunch 1-6 1.60
Lunch 7-12 1.85
Lunch Adult 2.60
Milk .30
On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
GRS/MILAN BOARD The Superintendent will respond to a letter from GRS and Milan requesting more involvement between these districts and Berlin. The Berlin Board is interested in meeting with GRS and Milan. Once an agenda has been developed, it will be shared with our Board. A meeting date sometime in September was suggested.
NEW BUSINESS The Board was informed of the status of the closing of Bartlett School and the moves being made throughout the district.
A CIP update will be given to the Board at their next meeting.
NON PUBLIC On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 8:05 a.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II (a), (b), (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 8:10 a.m. The motion passed unanimously. No additional votes were taken in nonpublic session.
STAFFING On a motion by Martha Laflamme, seconded by Nicole Plourde, the Board voted to accept the following staffing changes:

ADJOURN On a motion by Martha Laflamme, seconded by Nicole Plourde, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 8:25 a.m. The motion passed unanimously.
