A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Mitch Couture, Nicole Plourde, Martha Laflamme, Melissa Wedge, Nathan Morin, John Moulis, Steve Michaud, Corinne Cascadden, Gary Bisson, Tim Forestall, Ken Proulx, John Donaldson, Dan Record, Beverly Dupont, Roland Pinette, Jane Provencher, Dawn Delafontaine, David Delafontaine, Brandon Delafontaine, Mr. & Mrs. Alan Laflamme, and members of the press. The meeting was opened by Martha Laflamme. Mitch Couture arrived at 6:30 p.m.
MINUTES On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Melissa Wedge, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the April 2, 2008 meeting, public and nonpublic sessions. The motion passed unanimously, with Nathan Morin abstaining.
WARRANTS A motion was made by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Nathan Morin, to approve the warrants dated April 7, April 14, and April 21, 2008 for the amounts of $$1,572.87, $15,905.00, and $200,277.71, respectively. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
COMMENTS None
POLICIES On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the changes to the Internet Policies EHAA and EGA as presented in the packet. The motion passed unanimously. A second reading was held on these policies and a motion was then made by Nicole Plourde and seconded by Nathan Morin to approve the revisions to policies EHAA and EGA. The motion passed unanimously.
MANUALS On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the Student/Parent Manuals for grades 4-6 in conjunction with the newly approved internet policies. The motion passed unanimously.
SUPER REPORT The Superintendent informed the Board of the transportation agreement between Berlin and Gorham.
Mitch Couture and Nathan Morin will continue to serve on the Dummer AREA Withdrawal Study Committee.
COMMENTS None
NEW BUSINESS John Donaldson informed the Board that all bus inspections had been completed.
NON PUBLIC On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to go into nonpublic session at 6:35 p.m. in accordance with RSA 91-A3II (a), (b), (c). On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to come out of nonpublic session at 9:20 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. One additional vote was taken in nonpublic session.
STAFFING On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Martha Laflamme, the Board voted to accept the following staffing changes:

ADJOURN On a motion by Nathan Morin, seconded by Melissa Wedge, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 9:25 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
