AREA MEETING    A meeting between the Milan, Dummer, and Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 5:30 p.m. Present for the meeting wereMitch Couture, Nicole Plourde, Nathan Morin, Marion Huntley, John Moulis, Dan Record, Gary Bisson, Pauline Plourde, Roland Pinette, Cheryl Pinette, Patricia Shute, Kevin Evans, Sandy Pouliot, Jennifer Miller, Jane Provencher, John Donaldson, Ben Skoglund, Stephen Michaud, Ken Proulx, and members of the press.

Mitch Couture welcomed everyone and opened discussion. The following items were discussed:

Sandy Pouliot would like to see the PBIS program extended to the Junior High School. Milan has this program in place already and she feels it would be great to have the continuum with all grades.

John Moulis will check on the signature sheet for the AREA Agreement with Milan that has been approved by the City Council.

The effect of the budget on the schools was discussed.

Discussion on class sizes at Berlin High and Junior High Schools ensued.

A question was raised on the language of the Dummer tuition agreement. Mr. Moulis is still looking into this matter. Pauline Plourde informed the members that the state needs a letter indicating whether or not we are interested in entering into a tuition agreement. The actual language can be worked on at a later date.

Questions on the accreditation of the high school and the percentage of students attending college after graduation were answered.

Gary Bisson asked how tuition agreements work regarding parental options and receiving district options. The receiving districts have the option of limiting the number of students they accept.

ADJOURN         The meeting was adjourned at 6:05 p.m. This meeting will be held in Milan next year.
