Selectmen Minutes - April 6, 2018

The April 6th meeting of the Board of Selectmen was called to order by Chairman Soter with Mrs. McNulty, Mr. Spencer and Mr. Connor in attendance.

Mr. Soter thanked the Council on Aging Board and the Elder Services Group for inviting the Selectmen to host a meeting at the Senior Center.

Mr. Soter introduced Allen Lieb of Lieb Associates who was recommended by a sub-committee to perform an Architectural Feasibility Study of the Senior Center.  Mr. Soter explained Mr. Lieb was the unanimous choice of the subcommittee due to Mr. Lieb’s experience with Municipal projects, specifically with Senior Centers.  Mr. Soter asked the Board for a motion to award the $8,000 Feasibility Study contract to Lieb Associates.  
On a Spencer/McNulty motion, the Board unanimously voted to award the Senior Center Feasibility Study to Lieb Associates of Lynnfield, MA.

Mr. Lieb thanked the Selectmen for their confidence and assured the audience he will personally handle this project and will start the process immediately.

Mr. Fraine informed the Board that passes for Silver Lake are now available through the Town’s website.  Mr. Fraine explained a $10 resident fee has been implemented in order to assist with the maintenance of the beach, playground and splash pad.  Mr. Fraine stated the fee for out of Town residents will continue to be $60.

On a Connor/McNulty motion, the Board unanimously voted to approve the Macy School property closing documents, all as prepared by Town Counsel, and further authorized the Chairman to execute the documents.

On a Spencer/McNulty motion, the Board unanimously voted to approve the license renewals for the Chowder Bowl and New England Country Club as presented.

On a Spencer/Connor motion, the Board unanimously voted to adjourn at 11:00 AM.
