4. GENERAL DISCUSSION
A. LABOR ISSUES WITH BOTH FIRE AND POLICE
Denis Fraine appeared to request a Reserve Fund Transfer for legal services with regard to American Arbitration Association mediation for the Police and Fire contracts. The Union is:
- challenging the town because of the Town’s request to have a medical evaluation before returning to work after being out for an injury;
- requesting mediation involving provisions for clothing damage (to date there is a $1,800 clothing allowance)
- contesting the Town’s request for medical documents for sick days;
- management rights; and
- sick leave issues.
The total requested is $40,000.
Raymond Szczepan/Henri Masson motion to transfer $40,000 from the Reserve Fund to the Professional Services account. VOTE: 6/0
B. Toni Picariello will order all members an updated Association of Town Finance Committee’s handbook
C. Roland Lavallee/Raymond Szczepan motion to vote the FinCom budget for a total of $4,900, a decrease of $175.00. Budget consists of:
Clerk’s Stipend $2,868
Postage $150
Printing $1,200
Dues $320
Office supplies $362
