Minutes
PRESENT
Chairperson Kelly McGovern, Vice Chair Vincent Forte, Jr., Health Agent Michael Catalano and Minutes Clerk Elizabeth Donovan
call to order
Ms. McGovern called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Forte moved to approve the Minutes of March 3, 2016; motion was seconded by Ms. McGovern and carried.
Public Hearing
Ms. McGovern called the public hearing to order at 7:45 p.m.
The plans for 463 Hartford Avenue were presented for the board. The sole concern raised by abutter, Ms. Christine Dame. was the potential for heavy equipment damaging her system.. She was assured that no heavy equipment would go on her property.
Mr. Forte moved to approve the variance for setback from 10’ to 5’ per 310CMR 15.211 for 463 Hartford Street. Motion was seconded by Ms. McGovern and passed without objection.
Mr. Forte moved to close the public hearing at 7:52 p.m. Motion was seconded by Ms. McGovern and the public hearing adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
Tobacco
Ms. McGovern announced that Tobacco Agent Marilyn Edge conducted 28 compliance checks and all passed.
OLD BUSINESS
Home Depot
Agent Catalano reported that he has spoken with the new manager who has chosen to adhere to their store policy regarding pets. The signs that were previously agreed on were not posted. Board agreed that the new manager be invited to the April 7th meeting.
Debris
Mr. Forte recounted a recent incident involving following a Barry Brothers’ truck after he noticed debris blowing out of it onto a public way. The new regulation will address private ways as well as public (not residential per se). Mr. Forte asked that all trash haulers be sent a letters warning of potential fines if debris blows out of their truck.
BILLS
Mr. Forte moved to pay $700 to Marilyn Edge for compliance checks; Ms. McGovern seconded; motion carried.
Mr. Forte moved to pay WB Mason $94.48 for office supplies; Ms. McGovern seconded; motion carried.
BETTERMENT BILLS
Mr. Forte moved to pay P.L. Trufant $12,000, deposit for 454 Hartford Avenue; Ms. McGovern seconded; motion carried.
Mr. Forte moved to pay Dave Brown and Thomas Steeves $12,500, deposit for 1451 Pulaski Boulevard; Ms. McGovern seconded; motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Forte moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 p.m.; motion was seconded by Ms. McGovern and carried.
