7:01 PM Meeting opened.

Selectmen’s Comments and Announcements: George advised that the dead trees at the beach were removed.  He also advised that Algerie Road/Bonny Rigg Hill Road project is underway and going well.  The new excavator is working well but had a minor issue that was covered by warranty.

Bill motioned to approve the minutes of August 11, 2010, Mark seconded.  All in favor.

Public Input: Colleen O’ Connor asked how the survey was going on Main and Maple Streets.  Richard advised that they are still working on it and it should be done in a couple of days.

Bruce Garlow apologized to the board about an article that appeared in the Berkshire Record a while back.  He advised that some of his comments were accurate but some of them were inaccurate.  George thanked him and asked if he could put something in the paper stating that there were inaccuracies.

Hildegard Freedman advised that in the spring she had a dance program at the town hall but stopped having them in July and August because there was no air conditioning at town hall.  She would like to start them again and described the dance program.  She is asking the Selectmen if they are interested in her doing this program.  There were no objections to this.

Dave Bonney asked what the town would be doing with the proxies for the Sherwood Forest Lake District.  He asked if the town votes to have the lake district if this would mean all Becket residents would be able to access the beaches in Sherwood Forest.  Richard advised that this may need to be looked at by the town attorney.
