Approved Meeting Minutes
Wednesday , April 15th , 2009
Planning Board Members Present: Gale LaBelle; Chairperson , Ann Krawet, Barbara Stuhlman, Martin Schlanger, Stanley Oransky.
Planning Board Members Absent: Robert Podolski.
Members of the public present: John Campetti
Meeting called to order: 7:12 pm
Review and Acceptance of Meeting Minutes from March 11th, 2009: Ms. Ann Krawet makes a motion to accept the minutes from March 11th as presented. Ms. Barbara Stuhlman seconds motion; Unanimous approval.
Mr. Schlanger opens meeting at 7:09 pm, agendas are on the table for anyone that would like one. Planning Board introduction is read; this meeting is being held in accordance with Massachusetts General law Chapter 40A and the By-Laws of the town of Becket. A decision to issue a special permit requires a minimum of four positive votes from the five member board. The board has 90 days to make a decision after the close of a public hearing and 14 days to file paperwork with the Town Clerk once a decision is made. Any appeals of decisions can be made only to the court and must be pursuant to section 17 MGL 40A as amended, and must be filed within 20 days after the date of filing of the decision with the town clerk.
Form A- John Campetti ; Foresight Land Services for Terry Orr, Property on Quarry Road. Mr. Campetti approaches board members present and presents to them the plan that has been prepared. Mr. Campetti goes on to explain that it is a very simple Form A Plan, with the owner requesting exactly two acres of land be divided off. Mr. Oransky questions whether the acreage being separated contains any wetlands; Mr. Campetti replies there are no wetlands. Board members present briefly discuss. Mr. Schlanger makes a motion to vote on the Form A; Mr. Oransky seconds motion.

Old Business:
- Jacob’s Ladder Scenic By-Way Plan (board recommendations to be submitted to
Berkshire regional Planning Commission) Additional copies passed out to board members that were absent last month. Plan read and reviewed by all members present.
- Approval of Town of Becket warrant articles #3-#9; Attorney General. Read and reviewed by all members present.
New Business; Planning Board Recommendation-Petition for the town of Becket to layout and accept Jacob’s Hollow Road as a town way and for the insertion of an article in the 2009 Becket Town Meeting Warrant.
Secretary reminds board members present that Lenny ( Highway Superintendent) that it is his opinion that the road is in good shape. Board members discuss and decide that the town should not have to take on the financial burden, that this proposal implies.Mr. Schlanger makes a motion to not take a stand on the petition/proposal due to lack of information given. Mr. Oransky seconds motion; Unanimous approval .

Mr. Schlanger makes a motion to adjourn meeting; Mr. Oransky seconds motion, meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm.
