Business:
  • Mass. Highway notified us that they will be black topping Rte. 8S. Rob will write to them to state that we hope they are not planning to add more signs along the roadway.
  • Antique garments have been hung in our office to air out. Rob will contact Berkshire Historic Society to see if they are interesting in having these items as we do not have the ability to display or store them.
  • Rob is the Historical Commission representative on the Community Preservation Act committee. At the first meeting on Feb. 2, 2009, there was a discussion on possible uses of the money gleaned from this program. Rob suggested that we plan on asking for money to pay for the three large map signs.
  • Phillip Miller sent Aaron pictures of trains. He is in contact with him and hopefully will receive more.
  • Barbara met with Arts Center representative  Patricia Parkins, to plan a tour of Becket Village and Becket Center Historic Districts this coming summer. A fee could be charged  and money donated to this commission. Discussion followed and all agreed that it sounds like a wonderful idea. Their suggested dates however, may conflict with other Becket events.
  • Steve Southard of Washington donated school pictures that he acquired from the estate of Naomi Sanville Peltier, a former Becket School teacher. A thank you will be sent to him.
Meeting adjourned at 7:40
Respectfully submitted,

Rita Furlong
