 Meeting Minutes

Wednesday, December 5th, 2012

 

 

Board of Health Members Present:  Ginger Conner,  Nina Weiler

                                                     

Board of Health Members Absent: None.

 

Meeting opens at:  10:06 am

 

Members of the public present: Colleen O’Connor

 

Approval of   November  14th  Meeting Minutes- Board members read and review minutes as presented,  minutes remain  unsigned due to lack of board members.

 

Ginger informs Nina that the Board has received three letters of interest from people that would like to be considered for a spot on the Board of Health. Ginger briefly explains the current situation  of the board. Member of the public, Ms. Colleen O’Conner questions the letters of interest received, asking Ginger questions concerning the applicants.

 

Map 216 Lot 307-395 King Richard Drive- Septic plans submitted.

Ginger and Nina begin to look over the plans as submitted, Ginger states that the lot is just over ½ an acre of property. Ginger briefly reviews the plans received as well as the checklist with Nina, answering  any questions that come up. After careful review, Ginger advises that she cannot approve the plans as presented, as the setbacks shown are too close to the Spring. Ginger advises that she will hold back on an approval until further evaluation with an Engineer as well as the Conservation Commission.

 

Map 217 Lot 12-145 Gentian Hollow Road- Septic plans submitted. Ginger and Nina briefly review and discuss. Ginger advises that all state requirements have been met. Ginger signs off as, “all requirements met on 12/5/12”.

 

Ginger and Colleen briefly discuss state rules and requirements  concerning septic systems. They continue their conversation comparing tight-tanks vs. septic systems. Colleen takes a few moments to explain to Ginger the situation with her well and her septic and also how the school’s  septic effects her well. Ginger requests that Colleen bring in a picture of the school septic tank, showing that it was made on site and also that it is made of concrete blocks. Colleen agrees to bring in said photos and present them to the board at their next meeting.

 

Map 410 Lot 9- Soil Evaluation- Submitted to the board of Health for their review.

 

Mr. John Amato suggests that the Guidebook available in the Board of health office is from May 1997 and that we should consider the purchase of a new one.

Budget- Read and reviewed

 

11:45 am- Nina makes a motion to adjourn the meeting; motion is seconded and adjourned. Schedule next meeting for Wednesday, December 19th at 10:00 am.
