The meeting was opened at 7:00 pm and the Board met with Valerie Nickerson Bird to discuss three properties:
1725 Main Street (Map 210 lot 33). The question was regarding whether or not a Title 5 Inspection was made. A percolation test was made as it was obvious that the existing septic system was inadequate. Therefore, a new septic system would be constructed.
34 Laurel Lane (Map 211 lot 129) Ms. Bird questioned a prior title 5 Inspection conducted by Charles Andrews in 2005. The questions were mute since she was to conduct a Title 5 Inspection on August 5th. A copy of the 2005 inspection was provided to her.
336 Fred Snow (Map 407 lot 131) The property was sold in 2002 for $20,000 and no Title 5 Inspection was conducted. The Board will determine whether or not the property was transferred within the family. It is claimed that the property has a privy but no septic system and a hand pump on a shallow well. The Board will verify the claim.
The Board approved unanimously the July 21, 2010 minutes and the July 29, 2010 Department payments to Treasurer.
An Application for Disposal System Construction Permit at 114 Sherwood Drive (map 216 lot 400) was approved by all members.
The Board discussed the Camp Becket Rifle Range and determined that the appropriate action was to request the Police Chief to inspect the range. Bill Elovirta has agreed to make this inspection.
