AT&T is experiencing wide-spread telephone outages impacting both business and residential customers in Avon. AT&T has been working to correct the problem since last evening and their estimated recovery time is approximately 2:00 p.m. today.
The outage impacts Town Hall and Town Departments, including police, fire, EMS, and 911. The Police Department’s main number (860-409-4200) has been re-routed and is currently working. All emergency 911 calls have been re-routed to the Farmington Police Emergency 911 center.
Extra Police personnel have been deployed, and the various Town Public Safety Services are maintaining contact with one another to ensure prompt response to public safety emergencies.
