Hello: Please excuse the cross-posting and duplicate messages but this is important!
The categories of the subscriber news and list serves maintained by the Town web site have been redefined.
If you subscribed to “Public Notices”, which were announced in your in-box as “News and Announcements,” they will now be announced as “Community News.”
If you subscribed to “Meeting Agendas”, which appeared in your in-box as “Public Agendas,” they will appear as “Town News, Meetings and Agendas.”
This is what the two categories contain:
Community News: Community-wide topics include annual parades, Farmington Valley Arts Center and Avon Historical Society events, community fundraisers, annual special events such as Avon Day, program announcements of local organizations such as Avon Newcomers Club or Avon Lions Charities.~ Announcements of special public hearings, referenda, news releases of the Town of Avon will also be sent through this list.~
Town News Meetings and Agendas: This category includes the meeting dates and agendas of Avon government agencies and boards and commissions including the Board of Finance and Town Council, as well as announcements of special public hearings, referenda and news releases of the Town of Avon.~
The other three categories remain the same.
If do not wish to receive the newly-defined “Community News” or “Town News, Meetings and Agendas, “ please go to “Subscribe to News” on the town website and follow the instructions to unsubscribe.
