May 11, 2010
Present: Mike Deming, Paul McDonald, David Thurston, Jim Hutchinson, Betty Lewis. Staff: Stephen Selvek
Mike Deming calls the meeting to order
Minutes of April 13, 2010.
Motion to accept the minutes made by Paul McDonald, seconded by Jim Hutchinson. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Certificates of Appropriateness.
1) 17 William St.
Jim Dunster – New roof is needed on the school building next to the church. Pennsylvania slate has deteriorated and the roof is leaking. Estimates show that an asphalt roof would be cheaper.
General discussion.
Stephen Selvek – so the proposal is for Certainteed Grand Manor shingles in grey & replacement of the copper flashing. Before, during and after photos are required as well as a narrative of how the work is being done.
Motion for approval by Jim Hutchinson, seconded by Paul McDonald. Motion carried.
2) 39 Grover St.
Stephen Selvek – proposal is to remove the aluminum siding and replace with wood clapboard and to replace the front porch with grey sandstone ball caps and treads, textured brick for the sidewalls and to remove the existing railings to reform, repaint and reinstall.
Motion to approve made by Paul McDonald, seconded by David Thurston. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
