1. 54 South Street – Randall & Linda Guinn – Request to construct a 2-car garage.
2. 4 Hamilton Avenue – First Methodist Church – Request to replace wood fence.

54 South Street – Randall & Linda Guinn – Request to construct a 2-car garage.

Jill Fudo – on the northeast corner of South and Logan. They would like to take elements from the exiting building and use in different configuration on the garage.  They have tried to be as appropriate as possible in the limited space. They would also like to add to the existing fence using in kind materials to protect the premises.

Mike Deming – thinks the building looks to prominent.

Jill Fudo – understood, that’s why the building has been designed as it is. We will add to the landscaping to diminish it.

Mike Deming – a contrasting color to the house would be less prominent.

Stephen Selvek – the building needs to be secondary to the house and not give the impression it’s always been there. Mimic the existing but not be an exact copy.

General discussion.

Stephen Selvek – would not go with a competing color but one a shade darker than the house. A contrasting color would draw more attention.

Motion to approve subject to staff review of landscaping made by Jim Hutchinson, seconded by Judith Bryant. All members vote approval. Motion carried.

4 Hamilton Avenue – First Methodist Church – Request to replace wood fence.

Mike Deming – the backyard is not seen from the front.

Jim Hutchinson – recommends painting would make it look better.

Motion to approve made by David Thurston, seconded by Paul McDonald. All members vote approval. Motion carried
