Meeting Minutes
May 13, 2008
Present: Betty Lewis, Mike Deming, Jim Hutchinson, David Thurston. Staff: Stephen Selvek, Alicia McKeen
Absent: Judith Bryant, Paul McDonald
Mike Deming calls the meeting to order.
Certificates of Appropriateness.
180 South St. – 180 South Street – Harriet Tubman Home, Inc. – Request to demolish a non-contributing 2-bay garage located to the east of the Tubman Home.
Beth Crawford of Crawford and Stearns – pursuing hazardous materials abatement on site. Would like to remove the garage which was built 1950 post Tubman era. A Beginning Architect project is scheduled to work there. The building will be removed but the foundation left. Intent is to put an addition on the home for the aged in the future. Intend to restore the exterior to 1910 period.
General discussion on the project.
Motion to accept mad by Jim Hutchinson, seconded by David Thurston. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Stephen Selvek – hands out the City Preservation Ordinance as requested at the last meeting. Trying to get copies of Standards for Rehabilitation.
Motion to adjourn by Jim Hutchinson, seconded by Betty Lewis.
