Moore Yes. We have until December.
Salva Is there anything new on this geothermal heating and air conditioning project?
Moore For here?
Salva Yeah.
Moore No. Just talk. We should finish reviewing these minutes before moving forward.
Salva Right. It looks correct. I make a motion to accept the minutes.
Moore I second it.
Salva In favor?
Klimek Aye.
Salva They
Quill Bob Smith said that he was going to bring examples of the tests based on the new code. Will he be coming tonight?
Moore Yeah. He said he was going to be here.
Salva We want to make up another test with the 2002 code for the June exam, so I will talk to him in the morning if we don
Moore The training room is worse.
Salva Granted the whole building is bad in July. This year we are going to stay with June, but by next year it can very well be in place.
Moore John Salomone wants to have this place air conditioned.
Salva So that
Moore Okay.
Salva The Limited and Masters will need new ones.
(Ken Lumb enters)
Klimek What did you do, run down here?
Lumb Part way.
All (laugh)
Lumb Nobody signed up?
Salva We have two guys up there. This is an example of the revised application for us to review.
Moore Do we want to start the interviews first?
Salva Okay.
First Applicant
(Applicant presents application and fee to Board)
Soule Is the test given here?
Salva Yes. I have a brief information sheet, which I forgot to bring.
Soule Okay.
Lumb You
Soule Yes.
Salva The test is Wednesday, June 12th at 7pm. It starts promptly at 7 pm., so be a few minutes early. It is a two hour open book test, NEC. You are allowed to bring an NEC book, NEC handbook and a standard calculator. It
Moore It will be based on the 2002 code.
Salva Right. That
Lumb You
Soule Yes.
Moore Okay. Thank you Mr. Soule.
Soule Thank you.
+end of interview
Lumb I talked to Joe Pellegrino in Ithaca. He says they have not forgotten about our offer for a reciprocal agreement and he thinks that it might go. But they haven
Klimek Really.
Salva Do you have an idea how often they meet?
Lumb I don
Second Applicant
Salva How are you Mark?
Caruana Good. How are you?
Salva Good. Keeping busy?
Caruana Yes. (applicant presents application to the board)
Salva You
Moore Yes. Is that notarized?
Quill Yes.
Moore I really don
Salva Mark is the BOCES instructor.
Moore Has he taken the Master
Salva He might of. He definitely took the Limited. Dorothy look back toward 1999.
Blair He took the Master
Salva Okay. Mark the test is Wednesday, June 12th at 7pm. Same as in the past, but this is now based on the 2002 code book. Two hour open book test, NEC book, NEC handbook, standard calculator and it starts promptly at 7pm., so be a little early.
Caruana It
Moore Right. Twenty-five dollars. City of Auburn.
Salva Okay then, we are all set.
Caruana Thank you. Have a good evening.
Salva You too.
+end of interview
Lumb I was wondering why the guy from Scriba was here. He looked so familiar. You know what I think it was, when the landfill had their walk through for that project, Scriba was on the list.
Moore Yeah.
Lumb When I was in there for that, one of the guys asked me if they had a license. I said I didn
Moore Well he called me and I told him.
Salva Has that been awarded officially?
Moore Not that I know of.
Salva Ridley was how much lower?
Moore $450. That was on the water plant.
Lumb Yeah. That was really tight. Ridley told me about that one.
Moore Ridley has had an Auburn license for a long time.
Salva Does Buddy Ridley have the license or is it his Dad
Moore I think it was the father.
Salva How does that work?
Lumb It
Salva But, the father is deceased.
Moore Oh is he? How long ago did he die?
Salva Five years.
Moore What was the father
Salva Benjamin Ridley.
Moore Who is the license in?
Salva The son
Moore I think he took the test back in 1992.
Lumb I think somebody from Ridley took the test since I
Moore I remember back in 1992, I got into an argument with him because they were doing a lot of work at the water plant. So he just came in and took the test.
Blair He took it January 13th of 1993.
Moore Okay. Does it say Jr. or Sr. on it?
Blair No.
Salva We can check on the renewal.
Moore I
Salva When somebody comes in to renew a license, we need to verify that it is indeed the license holder because a license cannot be transferred.
Moore Right.
Lumb Like what happened with Merit Electric.
Salva Right. My business does not have a license. I have a license. Same with all of the master license holders.
Moore Correct. Does it give their age or anything on the application?
Quill No.
Moore We can look at the years of experience.
Salva We should have a way to positively identify the individual renewing against the person who took the test. Date of Birth, Social Security number, drivers license number? Are there any legalities, with requesting certain personal information?
Moore I don
Quill This is just another reason why they have to come in person to renew the license.
Salva Oh sure.
Quill We also need to have “deceased” an option on our license program, along with active, inactive and revoked. I
Moore We have to get him to put that in.
Salva And it
Klimek I say we go with the social security number.
Salva I think so too.
Moore Yeah, we can make room for it in the application.
Salva There are a lot of father and son businesses with the same name. We need to consider this.
Quill So we want a place on the application for the social security number and date of birth?
Moore Yes.
