Chair calls meeting to order and asks for a motion to approve the minutes of February 2, 2009. So moved by Sally Widmer-Post, seconded by Rick Hansinger. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Chair asks for a motion to approve the minutes of August 11, 2008. So moved by Judy Wright, seconded by Mike Trapani. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Jennifer Haines - has the group introduce themselves
- Reviews Regionally Significant Project so far as it pertains to Saratoga Cheese
- Reviews the resolution needed from the Board recommending Saratoga Cheese be added to the Empire Zone
- Reviews that City Council must pass a law designating the parcel as part of the Empire Zone
- Reviews that a concurring resolution will be needed by the town of Aurelius after which the recommendation will be sent to NYS.
Lawrence Rosenbaum – updates the project so far
- Focus is to file a memo with the SCC 9/8/09 for private placement investment offering
- 2 grants are pending:
- 196,000 from Senator Arcuri
- 400,000 from NYS ESDC
- Discusses providers of the equipment and the equipment being used
- Using funding from traditional sources and capital investment advisors
- Stressed the importance of the Empire Zone credits to this business.
General question and answer period.
Jennifer Haines – the application will be sent to the state to first designate the land as Empire Zone after which the EZ-1 application for the business to be certified will be brought back before the Board for a vote.
Lawrence Rosenbaum – receiving much support from friends, family, etc. but needs more support from U.S. Senators.
Chair asks for a motion to approve the resolution designating the site to be added to the Empire Zone as a Regionally Significant Project. So moved by Rick Hansinger, seconded by Sally Widmer-Post. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Jennifer Haines – review the recent changed to the program and the status of the companies that have appealed their decertification.
Chair asks for a motion to adjourn. So moved by Arlene Ryan, seconded by Rick Hansinger. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
