Judy Wright – acting Chair
Chair calls meeting to order and asks for a motion to approve the minutes of November 11, 2009. So moved by Rick Hansinger, seconded by Tom McNabb. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Tom Ganey arrives and resumes Chair.
Jennifer Haines – introduces applicants for Carolina-Eastern Vail and recommends approving recommendation to ESD.
Cliff Love, manager – hands out pictures of the site. It is the old Agway on Columbus St. Will be manufacturing fertilizer for seven counties.
Polly Glecker – fertilizer, lime and seed.
Elaine Buffington – they have locations through out the state and are attracted by the ability to become zone certified. Currently have 18 employees.
Motion to recommend approval made by Arlene Ryan, seconded by Rick Hansinger. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Jennifer Haines – introduces Talic.
Tim Tucker – developed company based on personal needs for kayaking and storage supplies. Started as a hobby that grew into a business over nine years. Moving business to Auburn.
Rick Hansinger – questions materials used.
Tim Tucker – mostly wood.
Judy Wright – questions shipping.
Tim Tucker – by truck on pallets.
Mark Palesh – questions how assembled.
Tim Tucker – mostly by kit.
Motion to recommend approval made by Mike Trapani, seconded by Judy Wright. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Jennifer Haines – introduces Jim Daddabbo.
Jim Daddabbo – would like to open a restaurant in the former teacher’s center in Genesee Center. Was the former owner of Daddabbo’s Pizza. Wants something new and different . More specific to burritos, tacos and salads. Some alcohol. Wants a ‘cool place to hang out and eat’. Serving all of Auburn, quick and casual, mid priced.
Judy Wright – questions parking.
Jim Daddabbo – plenty of on street parking with a high turnaround plus there is the parking garage. Downtown customers are already there for some other reason and in the evening the parking is open. Seating will be about 30 with a possible out door atrium.
Motion to recommend approval made by Rick Hansinger, seconded by Arlene Ryan. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Jennifer Haines – Saratoga Cheese scheduled for a future meeting.
