Chair calls meeting to order and asks if there are minutes to be voted on.  Sally Widmer-Post moves to waive approval of minutes, seconded by Mike Trapani. Motion carried.

Applications:

One Source – Sarah Fagan-Post discusses the project as outlined in brochure and letter attached. The business is to help dealers, etc. put loans together. She is working as a service provider not a lender.  Will also provide service contracts (warranties, etc.).  It is the only business of its kind and is much needed for smaller, independent businesses.  Time is of the essence in this case. Without the benefits of the Empire Zone the business will fail.

Tom Ganey asks if there is a motion. Motion for approval by Sally Widmer-Post, seconded by Mike Trapani. All members vote approval. Motion carried.

Steve Lynch presents Saratoga Cheese Corp. as a regionally significant project.  Reads letter from Vijay Mital (attached).  We have been working on the project for about a year. Without regionally significant designation and benefits the businesses cannot happen.  Also expresses use of housing components within the City for employees.

Jennifer Haines – City Manager has sent a letter to the County Legislature and has asked that this application not be presented until a response is received. At that time we can hold a special meeting if desired.

Arlene Ryan – questions when the Zone Annual Report is due.

Marlene Bryant – that will be about November after the results from the Business Annual Reports have been generated.  I am going out now on site visits of the certified businesses.

Arlene Ryan – questions if results are satisfactory.

Marlene Bryant – yes.

On the August agenda is a meeting with Cayuga Museum for zone capital credits. In July there will be an application from Tops Markets.

No further matters. Meeting adjourned. Next meeting TBA.

Recorded by Alicia McKeen.
