Auburn City Council
Meeting #48
Tuesday, December 23, 2008  

4:00PM

Roll Call – Councilors Graney, McNabb, Smith, Brower and Mayor Quill, present.  

Staff Members Present – Mark Palesh, City Manager; Debra McCormick, City Clerk; Lisa Green, Comptroller; John Rossi, Corporation Counsel; Christine Selvek, Capital Improvement Program Manager.

All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Mayor Quill asks for a moment of silence.  

Public to be Heard

Mary Lou Picciano, 32 Cayuga St. spoke to express her opinion on the rules of Council for the public to be heard portion of the meeting.  

Presentations and Proclamations – The City Clerk read a proclamation into the record recognizing the 175th Anniversary of Holy Family Church.  

Public Announcements – None.

City Manager’s Report - None.

Presentations of Petitions and Communications – The Clerk read.

Ordinances – None

Resolutions -
Resolution #138 of 2008 authorizing award of Change Order #5 in the amount of $13,390.14 to Rizzo Construction to finalize and close out the East Genesee Street Reconstruction project.  Vote: Councilor Graney, McNabb, Smith, Brower, and Mayor Quill, aye.  PASSED.

Resolution #139 of 2008 authorizing approval of a Supplemental Agreement to C&S Engineers, Inc. to finalize and close out their contract for construction inspection services for the East Genesee Street Reconstruction Project.  Vote: Councilor Graney, McNabb, Smith, Brower, and Mayor Quill, aye.  PASSED.

There were no Local Laws or Tabled Legislation.


Other Business –
Councilor McNabb asked who was responsible for the expense of fire inspections done at vacant and abandon properties.  The City Manager reported that the City pays the expense.  Councilor McNabb requested that staff look into the possibility of the property owner reimbursing the City.  

Mayor Quill wished everyone Merry Christmas and encouraged City residents and staff to remember to donate, if possible to community food pantries.
