Ordinances and Local Laws
Ordinance #16 of 2002 authorizing amendment to the Code of the City of Auburn at Chapter 285 0- Vehicles and Traffic.  Following the reading there was some discussion among Council, the City Manager, and the Chief of Police.  Mike Lepak, 244 Franklin St. spoke to express concern about the need for enforcement of any ordinances.

Bond Ordinance #17 of 2002 authorizing the issuance of serial bonds to finance the cost of the renovation of the Casey Park skating facility.


Work Session
School Resource Officer
Sergeant Buckingham, School Resource Officer Coordinator, Philippe Uinski, Director of the Safe Schools Healthy Students Partnership, Cindy Lattimore Principal at Herman Avenue Elementary School and John Plume, Superintendent of the Auburn School District all speak to council to review the programs benefits and the need to continue the program.  Mayor Carnicelli thanks them for participating.  The Mayor and Council discuss public safety, funding issues in the future, the need in schools for this type of work.

Update of Casey Park Rink Enclosure
Mike Long, Senior Planner reviewed plans for Casey Park.  Ken Entenmanns, Board Member of Auburn Hockey Club, spoke to encourage council to support the park improvements.

Other Business
Councilor Dempsey asked if something could be done about the hole in the road on Lake Ave and Hamilton Ave.  He also asked about the barrel in road on Osborne St.  Councilor Dempsey asked if there was a skunk epidemic on Swift St and if something could be done.

Chief Giannotta spoke to announce that the Police Dept. will be at Wal-Mart on October 10 from noon until 6PM to do a Safety Education Day.
