Mr. Leone reported to Council that the ordinance amending Chapter 182 of the Housing Code relating to outdoor fireplaces cannot be “tweaked” any further as council had requested. Mr. Leone suggested two options. One, bring it back as is for a vote next week or pull it and just wait for the revised New York State Fire code to take affect in January 2003.
Councilor Jacobs stated he has heard from several retired city employees about rising health insurance costs and wondered if city staff could meet with them and explain costs. Mayor Carnicelli suggested that staff research first and put in writing results before meeting. Mr. Jacobs agreed.
Councilor Dempsey asked what the status of the early retirement incentive decision process is. Mayor Carnicelli responded that staff would present council with facts and figures at next weeks meeting as planned.
